Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute, support the Senior Project Manager for the initial project development by participating in the project feasibility assessment (site visit, preliminary design, contractual scope of work, specifications, execution schedule, costs etc.)
- Liaise and coordinate with Regional Renewables or EM engineering team, consultants, suppliers to understand, establish, review, validate and issue the projects specifications (M&E equipment, systems, infrastructure, structural & civil works), capital expenditures, operations expenditures and the performances guarantees; liaise with customers, support for presentation to customers
- Manage, coordinate, liaise with Malaysian Authorities, utilities and Government Agencies for project incentives application / coordination, regular and special inspections, infrastructure and project authorizations, licensing issues, and for general project implementation coordination required
- Work closely with Renewables Solar Business Development and Energy Management teams throughout the project development lifecycle, from Renewable Solar or Utilities Plant site visit or audit, design stage, proposal development, through to contract signing, financial close and project kick-off.
- Manage, coordinate, monitor and control the project execution works HSE, QA/QC quality compliance, budget expenses; review and manage variation orders and claims from contractors if any; ensure schedule of deliverables; train and give feedbacks to construction contractors and subcontractors.
- Perform regular site review, initiate and manage coordination meetings, issue regular project progress internal / external reports, identify critical risks, timeline critical path, engineering & construction constraints, issues raised by stakeholders and manage the potential related deviations.
- Ensure project construction is implemented in accordance with strict adherence to HSE procedures, complying with technical specifications, within budget and according to schedule as stated in the power purchase agreement or contract signed with the customer.
Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor degree in Environmental engineering or in Electrical/Mechanical, Electromechanical Engineering
- Minimum 5 years and proven record of successfully managing, supervising full spectrum of renewable solar projects with technical team, contractor coordination, with direct construction responsibility, with hands on experience of renewable solar plant
- Knowledge about Renewables, Solar engineering, project planning, coordination and contracts management with interfacing with Malaysian authorities (SEDA, MIDA, Energy Commission)
- Knowledgeable in the operations and maintenance of solar installations. Experience and proven competence in solar energy modeling software (PV syst) or sun path software
