Context:

The Operational Excellence IS team is the technological partner of Operational Excellence Expertise Center (EC) who is responsible for ensuring continuous and sustainable improvements of GEMS processes and the Front to Back chain. The EC Operational Excellence also provides a framework for accelerating new business and data initiatives and is organized in 4 teams:

  • DRIVE (Development Resilience Innovation Validation Execution)
  • Data Office
  • Operational Risk
  • Internal & Permanent Control

to act the gatekeeper of GEMS operational standards.

Role:

The position reports to the head of Digital & Data Accelerator and will cover the following activities:

  • Build and maintain Mercure data repository (fundamental data, weather, prices, fixings, …). A full revamping will start in 2024 to put in place a decentralized architecture (data mesh)
  • Ensure vendor relationships for packages that are integrated in our ecosystem (Operational Risks and Internal control scopes)
  • Ensure the follow-up of the development and setup activities that are performed within Deal Management Team for DRIVE team

Main activities and responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and manage of the relationship with business teams
  • Provide effective and timely communication/follow-up with stakeholders.
  • Organize team activities (allocations, planning)
  • Handle budget and ensure cost effectiveness
  • Ensure the effectiveness and performance of provided services and applications
  • Ensure the highest level of stakeholders’ satisfaction while complying with security rules and standards and audit recommendations.
  • Maintain high standard of software quality, development, design and testing principles within the team
  • Support and promote the continuous improvement of the services and applications

The development approach is agile and is focused on the value brought to business, in short, medium and long term.

    • Previous experience of IS with internal development and vendor relationships

    • Technical and applicative architecture

Education and professional background:

  • Master’s degree in engineering with a proven specialty in IT or equivalent.
  • Minimum 8 years of information technology, systems, and application development experience.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a leadership role.
  • Modern cloud technologies used for managing data (AWS is highly preferred).

Languages:

  • English
  • French

Travels:

  • The position is based in Paris
  • Punctual trips to Brussels
