The position is opened within GEMS EC IS BBT team, which is a transversal IS team in charge of managing B2B IS transversal purposes such as architecture, cross-countries and B2B BPs project or studies steering, budget management, etc and also to build or maintain common B2B IS assets. This team is embedded within GEMS EC IS, the Information System Expertise Center of GEMS.


Within GEMS EC IS BBT Team, the position consists in :

  • Building, delivering and maintaining B2B core platforms within the B2B IS landscape, with a strong focus on Data platforms in the coming short term (Global Metering Data Management Platform, Core B2B Data Platform, etc) and an extension to some Tech platforms in the medium/long term (Pricing Services capabilities, etc). Objective is to build “open” platforms, enabling local development autonomy while :
    • mutualizing common services
    • leveraging core competencies and expertise
    • minimizing local costs by sharing core assets
    • enabling local IS teams to focus on local value-added and specificities implementation.
  • Coordinating with local B2B BP IS teams to ensure consistency of implementations within the core platforms and frameworks with local B2B teams
  • Ensuring Data & Technical architecture & design authority lead (guidance and expertise support) for the core platforms and their local customization
  • Ensuring operational resources management (both internal staff or contractors) contributing to the core team
  • Ensuring core platforms costs (infrastructure, licenses, etc) close follow-up and monitoring, obsolescence management, Group compliance such as IS Security Management of owned platforms
  • Steering and coordinating activities and associated resources, and facilitating transversality with all stakeholders (IS, businesses, Digital and IT Filière, …)
  • Guarantying global service quality, expertise sustainability within the team, budget and norms respect


In the short/medium term, the position will mainly concentrate on France B2B Data platforms and act as Data acceleration leader, by :

  • steering Data Platforms rationalization project leveraging on target Group Datalake and ecosystem
  • steering Global Metering Data Management Platform deployment and transformation
  • pushing Data Governance and Quality to a higher level on critical data
  • pushing Data Science use cases industrialization if relevant.


Hard skills:

  • Must have:
    • Autonomy
    • Tech or Data development background
    • 5-10y+ experience in managing IT teams in a global organization
    • Experience in managing vendors / externals
    • Ability to animate and organize
  • Good to have:
    • Agile methodologies experience (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, etc)
    • Functional knowledge on Energy
    • Experience in Data Platform, Data Governance, …

Soft skills:

  • Must have:
    • Delivery and client focus
    • Ability to accompany Changes
    • Ability to evolve in a complex and matrixed environment
    • Ability to challenge requests
    • Communications skills (both to businesses and IT profiles)

Education and professional background:

Master’s degree or more

5 to 10 years at least of experience in managing IT Teams with development background

Due to the transversal role, position will imply some travels to Engie B2B locations (France, Belgium, Netherlands, UK, US, Mexico, Italy, Spain, Poland, Australia)
