Context:

The French company Engie Global Markets (EGM) is MIFID licensed as investment firm and regulated in France, Belgium, Singapore and Italy. As such, the firm must comply with several regulatory requirements.

Capital Performance Management (CPM) department is managing the regulatory framework.

The CPM team is in charge of maintaining the global framework on capital requirement (EGM) and supports origination business with Economic Value Analysis (EVA) in interaction with front office (GEMS activities).

The position is based in Paris La defense.

 

Reporting to Head of Credit & Transversal Risk (Brussels).

Role:

The analyst will be responsible for: 

  • Updating ICAAP reporting and analysis.
  • Support Front Office on delivery of EVA’s for Origination Committee.
  • Update tools related to reportings (model design, validation process).
  • Update supervisory reportings (ICAAP report, Recovery Plan, Resolution reporting, quarterly reporting on financials)
  • Collaborating with the legal department in case of specific deals (proposition of clauses).
  • Participating to transversal tasks such as:
    • Contribution to risk mitigators (optimization of cost of credit)
    • Contribution to new products (impact on capital requirement)
    • Contribute to teaching in Academies (Risk Academy, School of Structuring)
    • Supporting the management in handling some projects (new branch, portfolio transfer) or regulatory tasks

 

Hard skills:

  • Must have:
    • Experience In Capital Management (CRD/IFR)  for bank or regulated investment firms
    • Strong analytical and quantitative skills
    • Able to develop a tactical tool using one of those IT languages (python, VBA, SQL) and open to “low code” tools (Dataiku).
    • Proficient in writing and delivery of presentation.  
    • Accuracy, quality and timeliness of deliverables.
    • Ability to explain and convey messages about complex topics. 

 

  • Good to have: Knowledge on commodity transactions: products (physical and financial), mechanisms and risks would be a plus.

 

Soft skills:

  • Must have:
    • Autonomy and proactivity
    • Ability to back off and get a global view of risks => Risk based approach.
    • Solution driven
    • Good stress resilience
    • Good communication skills

 

  • Good to have:
    • An experience or ideas on climate risks
    • A knowledge on MIFID or EMIR

Education and professional background:

  • Master’s degree in Finance or Quantitative techniques
  • Min. 5 years of operational experience in a position with data manipulation, model design, ideally in an investment firm or banking environment.

 

Languages:

  • Fluent in English and in French written & oral.
  • Other languages are a plus.

Travels:

Limited.
