What You Can Expect
As the Project Controls Manager, you will be responsible for all Operator financial reporting across O&M and Capital Expenditures under the campus Concession Agreements for three Universities. This role reports to the Partnership Management Director with a dotted line to the Director of Project Controls and FP&A, and can be based in Columbus, OH, Iowa City, IA, or Washington, DC. You’ll drive end-to-end financial governance, strengthen planning discipline, and ensure full alignment with ENGIE’s standards and the requirements outlined in each Concession Agreement.
You’ll also orchestrate budgeting and forecasting cycles, uphold federal, state and local financial controls, and maintain strong engagement with campus leadership to ensure business objectives are fully supported. Beyond operational rigor, this position champions capability-building, stakeholder communication, partner relationships, risk mitigation, audit readiness, and long-term succession planning.
- Lead and mentor a team of six Project Controllers across three campuses while driving standard financial processes, controls, and compliance requirements
- Manage budgeting and forecasting consolidation, optimize FP&A linkages, develop cost-tracking independence, and communicate key financial indicators across campus teams
- Partner closely with local leadership and ENGIE subsidiaries to support business deliverables, maintain strong partnerships, and provide guidance on financial risks, contingencies, and audit preparation
- Develop presentations and documentation for senior stakeholders, support internal/external audits, and demonstrate readiness to step into broader leadership roles in line with succession planning
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or economics
- A minimum of seven years of experience in accounting, finance, tax, or related disciplines.
- Professional designation such as CPA, CFA, CIMA, ACA, ACCA, or equivalent
- Strong analytical acumen with proven capability building and using detailed Excel-based financial models
- Solid working knowledge of systems and automation tools including Access, Excel, SAP, and SAC
- Proven Customer Relationship Management capabilities, including handling inquiries, presenting, facilitating, and maintaining strong partnership-driven engagement with stakeholders

- This role is eligible for our hybrid work policy
- This role requires attendance at a worksite on a weekly basis
- Must be available to travel domestically up to 20% of the time
- Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies
Compensation
Salary Range: $113,900 – $174,570 USD annually
This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.
ENGIE complies with all federal, state, and local minimum wage laws. Actual salary offered may vary depending on geography, experience, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors.
In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus / incentive plan.
