What You Can Expect
As a Sustainability Project Management Intern, you will be responsible for supporting ENGIE’s Capital Projects team, concentrated on energy conservation and infrastructure development, maintenance, and academic collaboration projects for The Ohio State University’s Utility System. You will assist in the execution of a sustainability competition hosted by the Ohio State Energy Partners. The ideal candidate has an interest in obtaining practical experience working in content development and design in the energy industry as well as assisting in various project management tasks. This internship will work term will be from January 5, 2026 – May 29, 2026, 10 hours/week min.
In this role your key responsibilities everyday will be:
- Assist the Capital Projects team as assigned, job responsibilities may include:
- Design marketing content for the biannual Smart Campus Challenge, a sustainability competition open to student groups; disseminating this content among applicable populations by interfacing with Ohio State staff and stakeholders, student groups, ENGIE personnel, and professionals.
- Develop interfaces between ongoing projects and programs for energy conservation measures, energy delivery systems, and sustainability initiatives to interact with the Ohio State University community (students, faculty, contributors).
- Collaborate with program managers, business developers, and operations team to create and execute print and digital materials, including fact sheets, infographics, flyers, presentations, construction signage, and reports.
- Assist with procurement, invoice reconciliation, and more for the Ohio State University Combined Heating and Cooling Powerplant project.
- Craft original logos related to events and initiatives.
- Assess end audience (user) expectations and requirements and then respond with targeted material developed to meet the user expectation; iterating as needed.
- Optimize existing material and developing templates for distribution, publication, or archiving in consistent design format(s).
- Develop and maintaining social media and digital media presence for use by engaged stakeholders external to the company for a variety of audiences.
- Translate Ohio State Energy Partner’s message to meet marketing and communications needs as they arise.
- Produce marketing content that has the capability to be distributed within all levels of a 150,000-employee company.
What You’ll Bring
- Currently enrolled at Ohio State University
- Experience with sustainability coursework at Ohio State (such as within the School of Environment and Natural Resources) with a minimum of 3.0 GPA
- Ability to handle multiple assignments on a timely basis with a high degree of accuracy
- Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel
- Proficient with graphic design software
- Strong organizational, prioritization and time management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative
- Excellent oral, written, and communication skills
Additional Details
- This role requires attendance at a worksite
- Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies
- 10-20 hours per week, additional hours/weeks may be available based on business needs and will be discussed in advance with supervisor
- Additional terms may be available if interest by candidate and deemed appropriate by supervisor
Compensation
Hourly Range: $22.50 – $31.00 USD hourly
This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.
