The Power Marketing Analyst’s primary function is to support commercial negotiations from the larger Power Marketing team – namely power purchase agreements for ENGIE’s Utility-Scale Renewable Development business in the US. As a Power Marketing Analyst, you will report to Vice President of Power Marketing and you will prepare marketing materials for ENGIE’s potential off-take customers for the portfolio of wind, solar and battery storage projects. Additionally, you will support internal reporting requirements, including identifying and analyzing key performance indicators which best represent ENGIE’s position in the markets, and maintaining records of market transactions used for benchmarking. You will also support identifying and analyzing business opportunities and RFPs (Request for Proposals), actively participating in go/no-go decisions, and leading and coordinating ENGIE’s response strategy to RFP requests. In addition to having exceptional writing skills, you will be extremely organized, results-driven, and able to manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Support RFP proposal process in response to a high-volume of simultaneous RFPs to commercial and/or utility customers, working cross-functionally with development and financial teams in support of the bids & strategy
- Evaluate offtake opportunities to identify project risks which may not align with ENGIE risk mandates, and working with various analytical support groups within the trading team to place values on specific risks where applicable
- Maintain database of market comparable pricing and preparing presentation decks comparing ENGIE project offerings with market copmparable transactions, concisely summarizing key indicators and trends for senior management
- Manage and continually update ENGIE CRM for opportunities
- Generate reports for organization reviews and strategy sessions
- Oversee and communicate organization pipeline to internal decision-makers
- Support the Commercial Strategy team on evaluating project acquisition targets & market strategy development
- Remain abreast of renewable energy opportunities in North America and the national industry trends impacting the future of renewable development opportunities and their competitiveness as they relate to customers
- Represent ENGIE at national renewable energy events as an attendee, speaker, panelist
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in which you completed courses in finance, economics, mathematics, science, engineering or similar technical or analytics based program
- At least two years of energy market industry experience as an analyst or associate at a developer, utility, bank, investor or similar market participant
- Outstanding analytical skills and demonstrated expertise in utilizing detailed, Excel-based, financial models
- Commercial acumen in addition to deep analytic and/or technical capabilities
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, CRM (Salesforce) and PowerPoint skills
- Ability to operate with high energy and flexibility in a fast-paced, dynamic working environment
- Superb technical writing capabilities, attention to detail, and organizational skills
- Consistent and reliable attendance with the ability to manage time efficiently and a self-starter
- Team player with the willingness to help others
- Capability to collaborate across departments within the company and with external customers
Additional Details
- This role is eligible for our hybrid work policy; a minimum of 3 days working in the office
- Must be available to travel domestically up to 25% of the time
- Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies;
Compensation
Salary Range: $77,100 – $118,220 USD annually
This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.
ENGIE complies with all federal, state, and local minimum wage laws. Actual salary offered may vary depending on geography, experience, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors.
In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus / incentive plan.
