The Land Acquisition Coordinator will support site origination and development of distributed solar and solar + Storage projects for ENGIE Distributed Solar and Storage (DSS) business in the United States. They will work on managing several tasks to support land
Site Selection, Land Acquisition Coordination, Land Payment Management, Memo Recordation and other Document Control. associated with solar energy and storage project development to ultimately fulfill the company's renewable energy aspirations and growth strategy within North America. An ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills and an aptitude for attention to detail juggling a variety of simultaneous tasks, all while demonstrating a positive and professional attitude.
This position will sit in Chicago, IL and will report to the Manager of Project Development.
This position is a temporary position.
- Support greenfield project development activities, including early‑stage site identification, screening sites for suitability, and reviewing hosting capacity maps across target markets.
- Manage payments and workflows in the Radian platform, ensuring timely processing, accurate tracking, and proper documentation for internal audit requirements.
- Coordinate memo preparation and recording, maintaining organized records and ensuring compliance with county‑specific filing processes.
- Oversee lease execution logistics, including document routing, signatures, notary coordination, and final archiving in the development database.
- Ensures complete, accurate, and properly executed files
- Maintain and update development databases, ensuring all contracts, payment records, memos, and land agent documents are accurately stored and easily retrievable.
- Serve as a point of contact for landowners, supporting onboarding, monitoring progress, managing their portal access, and processing invoicing and payment schedules.
- Conduct preliminary due diligence, including desktop site reviews, proximity checks to infrastructure, zoning flagging, and summarizing key risks for the project team.
- Collaborate cross‑functionally with internal teams in legal, real estate, engineering, and finance to keep development activities on track and well‑documented
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Environmental Sciences, or Real Estate preferred
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience working as a land acquisition coordinator and/or land admin/analyst solar and/or renewable energy.
- Project management experience working on multiple projects and managing multiple stakeholders though the project lifecycle.
- Strong understanding of transaction processes included lease agreement execution and memo recordation
- General understanding of renewable energy market trends and the resulting impacts on solar project development. Experience with distributed / community solar programs a plus.
- The ability to present to a wide range of audiences, including third party Development Interns, landowners, potential off takers, government officials, and corporate Supporters.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365- including, SharePoint, Teams, MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
- Familiar with GIS Mapping software. SmartSheets & Docusign tools a plus

- This role is eligible for our hybrid work policy
- Must be available to travel domestically up to 25% of the time
- Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies
Compensation
Hourly Range: $24.38 - $37.32 USD hourly
This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.
