What You Can Expect

As a BESS Technical Advisor within ENGIE Distributed Solar & Storage (DSS) you will support development of battery energy storage system (BESS) projects in our Pre-construction team. You will collaborate with Development, Origination, Engineering, Execution, and Procurement teams to find and develop attractive opportunities for BESS projects and lead technical and commercial aspects (cost) of BESS developments.  You will contribute to technical aspects of proposals, permitting, and interconnection efforts of multiple developments and programs simultaneously, as outlined below:

 

  • Develop bespoke distributed BESS technical solutions
  • Support budgeting and EPC cost estimating for DG BESS projects
  • Support technical aspects of permitting and interconnection applications for BESS projects in our development pipeline
  • Present technical and operational aspects of BESS projects to BTM and Utility clients
  • Direct and supervise external consultant for early-stage / conceptual design phase and internal engineering in preparing preliminary site layouts, etc.

 

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Science in relevant field
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in renewable energy with a focus on BESS projects
  • Understanding of BESS projects (components, IX, supply chain, suppliers, EPC costs, operation phase, applicable standards)
  • Ability to manage multiple workflows and deliverables independently
  • Proficiency with MS Office, Power BI, Procore, and CRM tools such as Salesforce
  • Have knowledge of or prior experience of using AutoCAD to direct internal resources for preparing preliminary layouts or reviewing work of external consultants
  • Possess experience and show willingness to give presentations to customers and stakeholders

 

Additional Details

This role is eligible for ENGIE’s hybrid work policy

• Requires weekly attendance at a worksite

• Domestic travel required up to 15% with overnight trips as needed

• Must comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies

• Role includes outdoor work with exposure to weather conditions

 

Compensation

Salary Range: $130,000– $ 190,000 annually

 

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.

 

ENGIE complies with all federal, state, and local minimum wage laws. Actual salary offered may vary depending on geography, experience, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors. 

 

In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus / incentive plan.
