The Business Development Manager plays a key role in ensuring that the business maximizes financial results through the development of new business opportunities and account management while maintaining fair and ethical treatment of all stakeholders:

In conjunction with the project teams and global business units/technical groups, Community Of Practice,  supporting all the project activities related to the development of:

    1. On-Site Cogeneration projects
    2. On-Site Solar PV and PV Thermal projects
    3. Other decarbonisation or carbon abating solutions

The position reports to the Head of Origination and Strategic Partnerships

 

Key Accountabilities

As a Business Development Manager with ENGIE Solutions UAE, your primary objective is to prospect, develop, acquire and nurture new customers in the Commercial & Industrial sectors. The role ensures the development of a robust pipeline of opportunities aligned to our On-Site Energy business platform focused on-site solar production and storage, waste heat recovery and combined heat and power production.

 

 

  • Project origination & Development: Development of new client leads through market research, participation in industry events (support marketing activity by staffing key industry events in UAE) or professional networking, cold calling or social media to identify new business opportunities within the energy sector in the United Arab Emirates.  Assess the client needs and risks. Based on a Go/No Go approval process, propose the development of projects to the project team that  fit with Energy Solutions’ strategy.
  • Permitting and Approvals: Assist the project development team if required in securing necessary project approvals.
  • Project Coordination: Collaborate with technical and project development teams to ensure a successful project delivery that meets clients' expectations and timelines. Assist in the preparation of project proposals, budgets, and presentations with a particular focus on client coordination, relationship and account management. Ensure timely information sharing with the client to maximise engagement from origination to signature of the project and beyond to develop new opportunities through account management. information
  • Account Management: Establish a professional, working, and consultative, relationship with the client, by developing a core understanding of the unique business needs of the client within their industry. Continually assess customer needs/feedback and support the project development team to tailor offerings to meet and/or exceed client needs. Leverage existing ENGIE GCC clients and other industry stakeholders' relationships to nurture new ones: Make our client an “Ambassador of the Engie brand”.
  • Reporting & market analysis: Develop and use knowledge of the market, suppliers and competitors to identify and develop the company's unique selling propositions and differentiators. Provide timely regular reports and feedback on projects and regulatory developments in coordination with the stakeholder management team.
  • Manage the role’s sales and accounts pipeline via Salesforce CRM in an accurate and timely manner. Support the marketing team by gathering, recording and providing timely market  and client feedback, competitors, markets, and third-party activity

 

Specific Knowledge / skills   

  • Bachelor’s Degree (preferably engineering background)
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Highly motivated and target driven with a proven track record in sales and executed projects
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a highly articulate English level (Arabic is a plus)
  • Strong presentation, communication, and negotiation skills
  • Ability to personally deliver aligned, clear and concise presentations to customers.
  • Acts as a team member with all employees of ENGIE, ability to integrate and exchange with internal and external stakeholders to benefit the success of the role
  • Comply with all ENGIE policies and procedures, must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies

Business Understanding        

  • Understanding of renewable solar projects development is required.

 

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in Energy Sector sales for a minimum of 3 years.
