What You Can Expect
At ENGIE, we are accelerating the transition to a carbon-neutral world. Our Renewables team is at the heart of this mission, developing wind, solar, and battery storage projects that reshape how energy is produced and consumed across North America. We need sharp, driven professionals to help us evaluate and execute the investments that power this transformation.
As the Business Development Analyst II, you will support the evaluation and execution of mergers, acquisitions, partnerships, and greenfield development opportunities across wind, solar, battery energy storage, and related energy technologies.
Working within a lean, highly collaborative Business Development and M&A team, you will gain hands-on experience across the full deal lifecycle, from initial screening through diligence, valuation, and transaction execution. You will partner closely with experienced business leaders and cross functional teams to assess opportunities, identify key risks and value drivers, and support critical investment decisions.
This position offers meaningful responsibility early in your career, including direct exposure to strategic transactions and executive-level decision-making. You will build the analytical, financial, and commercial skillset needed to take ownership of increasingly complex workstreams and grow within ENGIE’s expanding renewable energy platform. You’ll have a direct line of sight to how multi-million (and often billion-dollar) energy investments are evaluated and executed in a rapidly evolving market.
What You Will Do
- Support the evaluation and execution of M&A transactions, partnerships, and development opportunities across wind, solar, battery storage, and emerging technologies
- Partner with cross-functional teams to coordinate transaction workstreams, ensuring alignment across development, engineering, finance, legal, and commercial stakeholders
- Build and analyze financial models by gathering and validating inputs, assessing valuation scenarios, and identifying key risks, sensitivities, and value drivers
- Support due diligence efforts by organizing data rooms, reviewing project materials, tracking critical issues, and helping drive transactions toward execution
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis to inform pipeline development, track deal flow, and identify new investment opportunities across North American power markets
- Develop clear, executive-ready presentations and investment materials that translate complex analysis into actionable insights for internal decision-making
- Enhance team effectiveness by maintaining datasets, improving tools and dashboards, and identifying opportunities to streamline processes and automate workflows
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Accounting, Engineering, or a related discipline
- Minimum two (2) years of experience in renewable energy, power, finance, consulting, or a related field, with exposure to project development, transactions, or valuation
- Advanced Excel and financial modeling capabilities, with experience supporting valuation, scenario analysis, and investment decision-making
- Ability to synthesize complex data into clear insights on risks, sensitivities, and value drivers
- Familiarity with M&A, project development, or structured transactions, including exposure to diligence, deal processes, or commercial analysis
- Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to create clear, structured, executive-ready materials (PowerPoint, Word)
- Proven ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive with a strong sense of ownership
- Intellectually curious with a genuine interest in energy markets, business development, and transactions
