ENGIE Supply & Energy Management (SEM) is responsible for managing the portfolio of gas, electricity, congestion revenues rights and environmental products for ENGIE, across geographies. We are reshaping the energy future by reconciling economic performance with a positive impact on people and the planet, and we are looking for people who are committed to help turn our vision into reality. Our 4 areas of expertise: Asset management, Energy transition services, Energy supply & global commodities, Risk management & market access. ENGIE is active in Romania in three areas: gas, electricity and energy services. The main subsidiary of the Group, ENGIE Romania, supplies natural gas and electricity, distributes natural gas, offers energy related services to all market segments and also produces electricity. ENGIE Romania serves more than 1.9 million customers, operates 21,000 km of networks, owns and operates renewable assets with a installed capacity of 250 MW and employs around 4,000 people.

What you will do:

ENGIE Romania’s Intraday Desk manages ENGIE’s short-term electricity positions on Romanian markets, ensuring portfolio optimization, market access for ENGIE and third parties, and active participation in intraday continuous trading and auctions. Its mission is to minimize balancing costs, maximize value from renewable assets (wind, solar, storage), and provide reliable market execution for the Group. You will join a dynamic and growing desk at the heart of ENGIE’s short-term power activity. We leverage advanced analytics and machine learning models to optimize trading decisions and support the integration of renewable generation into the system. By ensuring efficient execution, the desk contributes directly to reshaping the energy landscape and accelerating the energy transition in Romania and across the region.

As Intraday Power Trader, you will focus on the disciplined execution of our intraday trading strategies. Your role will be centred on following model recommendations, desk guidelines, and adapting to live market conditions in real time.

  • You will execute trades on intraday markets by applying desk strategies and model recommendations within internal mandates and risk limits (ph/qh products, intraday auctions).

  • You will collaborate with quants by providing feedback, ideas, and operational insights to improve models and strategies.
  • You will participate in research and development of new trading strategies, both proprietary and asset-backed for Wind, Solar, and Battery Storage.
  • You will optimize ENGIE’s portfolios, reducing balancing costs for consumer portfolio and renewable assets (wind, solar, batteries).
  • You will work with lateral desks (PW Trading, Green Desk, Costing, etc.) to ensure coordinated execution.
  • You will maintain accurate booking of trades and monitor positions.
  • You will engage with counterparties, Transmission System Operators (TSOs), Distribution System Operators (DSOs), Forecasters, and exchanges when needed.
  • You will work in shifts, including nights and weekends.
