We are looking for a Data Engineer who will actively contribute to building and maintaining the data foundations of tomorrow. In this role, you will design, develop, and operate scalable data pipelines and data platforms across on‑premise and cloud environments. You will work closely with analytics, BI, and advanced analytics teams to ensure high‑quality, reliable, and well‑governed data that enables business insights and drives value across the organization.
Responsabilities:
- Designing, building, and maintaining data structures based on the Medallion architecture (Bronze / Silver / Gold).
- Developing and maintaining data ingestion and transformation pipelines (ETL / ELT).
- Using Databricks or equivalent platforms for data ingestion, cleansing, standardization, enrichment, and aggregation.
- Analyzing business requirements and translating them into scalable data solutions.
- Ensuring data cleansing, transformation, validation, and quality across all data pipelines.
- Ensuring the integration of on‑premise and cloud data sources.
- Collaborating with Data Analytics, BI, and Advanced Analytics teams to deliver data ready for forecasting models and predictive analytics.
- Implementing automation of data processing workflows.
- Designing and implementing, in collaboration with the IT Infrastructure team, data replication and exposure flows from on‑premise source systems to SAP BW (on‑prem) and further to the Cloud Datalake, in line with ENGIE policies.
- Managing dependencies between on‑premise and cloud systems to ensure data consistency and continuity.
- Using cloud services (AWS / Azure) for efficient data storage, organization, and management within the Datalake.
- Monitoring data pipeline performance and continuously optimizing processing and storage costs in the cloud environment.
- Implementing logging and monitoring mechanisms for data pipelines.
- Investigating and resolving data incidents.
- Implementing and enforcing Data Governance standards, including metadata management, data ownership, data lineage, and data classification, using ENGIE‑approved tools (e.g. Collibra).
- Collaborating with Security and Compliance teams to ensure adherence to GDPR requirements and internal ENGIE policies.
- Providing technical support and evolutionary maintenance for production data flows.
- Documenting data flows, architectures, and transformation rules in accordance with ENGIE methodologies.
- Ensuring comprehensive technical documentation of data pipelines and architectures.
Desired education, expertise, and skills:
- University degree in IT or related fields, completed with a Bachelor’s degree (e.g. Automation, Cybernetics, Computer Science, etc.);
- Minimum 3 years of experience in IT / Data;
- At least 1–2 years of hands-on experience as a Data Engineer;
- Experience delivering end‑to‑end solutions, from business requirements through to production;
- Experience working in an enterprise environment (processes, security, governance);
- Hands-on experience in the following areas:
- Advanced SQL skills;
- Intermediate Python proficiency;
- ETL / ELT processes at an intermediate level;
- Design and maintenance of data architectures (Data Warehouse / Datalake);
- API integration;
- Cloud platforms (Azure / AWS) at an intermediate level;
- Data Governance and Data Quality practices.
