Renewable hydrogen (produced from water electrolysis) is central to ENGIE’s strategy driven by decarbonization, decentralization and digitalization. Our ambition is to become a major player in renewable hydrogen to remain at the forefront of global transformations in the industry, mobility and tertiary sectors. We want to scale up the Hydrogen economy.
ENGIE is uniquely placed to deliver on these objectives. Our worldwide presence, strong industrial capabilities and local anchorage as well as a deep know-how in both gas and power management, including midstream infrastructure operations, such as storage, allow us develop integrated solutions for our customers all across the value chain (from renewable hydrogen production by water electrolysis using renewable energies, storage, transportation, distribution and services to end users).
Our ambition is to become a renewable hydrogen major present worldwide providing its customers with integrated zero-carbon solutions based on renewable H2.
We develop solutions for industrials (using hydrogen in their processes) and territories looking for carbon free solutions as a service (H2 as a fuel for mobility, flexibility solutions for the local energy system…), as well as develop Power to X projects (e-ammonia, e-methanol, syn-fuels, e-methane, etc.) with strong partners.
-------
Our passion stems from the desire to preserve our planet for next generations, knowing that Hydrogen could account for almost one-fifth of total final energy consumed by 2050. This would reduce annual CO2 emissions by roughly 6 Gt compared to today’s technologies, and contribute roughly 20% of the additional abatement required to limit global warming to two degrees Celsius. Our ambition is to make it happen now at industrial scale, through concrete affordable renewable based hydrogen solutions.

ENGIE’s sustainable H2 team is :
- a young and lean business activating very large external & internal networks of people and competencies on many geographies around the world.
- Multi-localized with people based close to the fields of actions in our regional business units, supported by a central business development team for transversal matters. We have already developed a portfolio of projects in various countries such as Chile, Australia, Belgium, South Africa, the Netherlands, France.

- working in a flexible way, and the delivery of the strategic roadmap is organized in a project mode with short term objectives.
It allows each partner to express his/her leadership, handle new responsibilities and work on very different type of subjects, where the contribution of everyone is key to come up with solutions that do not exist today.
ENGIE’s Hydrogen activity offers a unique playground to express your talents, bring your curiosity, creativity and courage, and grow yourself by experiencing new and very diverse areas. Our DNA is definitely an agile culture:
•we are customer oriented, by building tailor-made solutions adapted to our customer problems, involving them from the start,
•we are daring: we investigate new topics by imagining innovative, sustainable and profitable solutions,
•we promote innovation by developing collaborative working methods
•We truly care about the environment and improving the quality of people's lives
•We promote the collective support, by strengthening the culture of feedback
Do you want to live a unique adventure, working in a fast-growing market? Building innovative, sustainable and friendly solutions, within a multicultural team who allows you to explore new ways of working?
If you share our DNA and are aligned with our purpose “make the zero carbon transition” a reality, then join our journey to a better world, within the H2 Technology & Design team.
You will be our “Sustainable H2 Architect” VIE (F/M), located in Brussels.
Purpose: support technically the development and de-risking of sustainable large scale H2 (and derivatives) projects value chains and keep on improving our tools to do so.
Accountabilities:
As a Young H2 Architect, you will
1.Develop an expertise in specific green H2 applications, and the value chain required to produce the molecules or deliver the solutions, thanks to the information made available by our senior staff members, technology experts and solution architects, our consulting arm, and by performing technology watch and desk researches.
2.Get to know of the regulations related to sustainable hydrogen and derivate products, using the synthesis provided by our internal advocacy teams, to be aware of the requirements that our solutions must meet
3.Support our business development through the technico-economic analysis and sizing definition of large scale H2 and e-fuels projects. Alongside a fellow H2 Architect colleague, conduct assumptions gathering in contact with renewable energy, engineering and R&D labs colleagues and use in-house optimization and simulation tools, to shape and cost the contemplated value chains.

In our permanent quest for internal competitive edge, you will also actively contribute to the development of the ongoing AHYMS (AI-enabled Hydrogen Management System) Solution, targeting simulation (Digital Twin) and operational management (Energy Management System) of H2 plants.
In interaction with the AHYMS Project Manager, Tractebel Engineering and Engie Research and Innovation (R&I) colleagues, you will
1.Help / support  the 3 ongoing AHYMS deployment projects in Europe and Africa.
2.Produce and analyze simulations and results to validate their plausibility and diagnose needs for tools improvement.
3.Attend AHYMS project meetings (internal and external to ENGIE) and assist the Project Manager in organizing  minuting, following-up of the actions, and consolidating the efforts on the project for the purpose of European Green Deal grant management.
4.Manage the documentation related to the AHYMS project in support to the Project Manager, generate ad-hoc internal reporting on their status and new developments.

You want to develop:
1.Ability to draw an overall picture of complete H2 and related value chains, gathering pieces of information from numerous sources, identifying and quantifying the factors that matter and shape such projects
2.Creative thinking: be able to suggest innovative solutions to everyday problems,
3.Ability to assess, analyze, and propose solutions to problems, based on partial information,
4.Team player attitude,
5.Empathy, loyalty and respect for people, ability to develop authentic relationships, through generous listening and straight talk

Qualifications

1.You are finishing a degree in Engineering , with affinity for both technology and economics,
2.You have a fiber and genuine interest for technical/economic models and simulations of large scale hydrogen value chains (a prior experience in simulations tools such as Modelica/Dymola is a plus),
3.You are committed to delivering results,
4.You are willing to upskill yourself quickly on new topics
5.You are able to take initiatives and make proposals,
6.You enjoy networking and open to travel occasionally
