Business Controller

To manage these challenges, we are looking for a Business Controller to work from Brussels.

Your Challenge as a Business Controller:

Controlling activities decommissioning (DECOM) programs

• Reporting, Budgets and MTP:
  • responsible for the preparation of periodical reporting towards the BU of the DECOM activities,
  • challenge the budget of these activities,
  • responsible for budget/MTP reporting to Nuclear Controlling Team and DECOM Management Team
• Best Estimate:
  • Provide high-quality input, Key Messages to DECOM Management Team and Nuclear Controlling Team
• Accruals:
  • timely provide high-quality input
• Represent Controlling in diverse Committees and activities
• Provide financial leadership for the DECOM scope in a matrixed organization
  • Build and develop a strong collaboration with the local Decom program controllers;
  • Perform all relevant controlling activities related to Decom program : booking/reporting on program resources, delta analysis, definition of KPI, budgets;
  • Track nuclear provision consumptions in alignment with Local Decom program controllers. Follow-up of the DECOM management reserve
  • Develop, maintain  and deploy  the Decommissioning program financial management plan and ensure coordination with local sites
  • Set-up and maintain controlling procedures for DECOM related subjects (SAP structure DECOM, FTE management, O&M Allocation,…) and ensure coordination with local sites
  • Manage reinvoicing process to Synatom for all Provision related expenses in accordance with relevant conventions
• Fuel for Growth Deep dives follow-up and any other performance actions plan: reporting and analysis
• Assist in reporting towards ENGIE group / EDF for DECOM related subjects (QRLP,…)
• Ad hoc analyses and reporting e.g. on large projects, specific budgets
• Training DECOM budget owners.
• Continuous Improvements existing processes.

Transactional activities:

• Nuclear provisions:
  • Represent finance in the three yearly preparation of the provision exercise
• Coordinate and set-up the yearly reporting towards Synatom for the DECOM activities
• SPOC for the Nuclear controlling team in the DECOM organization
• SPOC for the Nuclear controlling team for Clarity DECOM
• Support DECOM Common project leaders with the management of the budgets in Clarity

Your profile:

• University degree: master level (preferably in Finance / Economy) or equal by experience.
• Relevant experience in Finance
• Knowledge of finance and accounting principles
• Ability to work autonomously
• Ability to create relationships with business partners
• Ability to make accurate and relevant financial analysis, assessments and judgments
• Capability to summarize (synthetic mindset)
• Fluent in French and Dutch. Fluency in English is a plus
• Team player
• Good communication skills, both verbal and written
• Pro-active, flexible and dynamic
• Profound knowledge of MS Excel. Knowledge of SAP, Business Intelligence tools ; SMART consolidation tool is a plus.
• Strong analytical skills
• Experience in financial transactions and negotiations
• Good knowledge of the energy business
• Ambitious to grow into a Senior Business Controller
