Context :
Within the GBU S&EM, the TSO Contracting desk is in charge of managing the commercial relationship with the Transmission System Operators in France, Belgium & the Netherlands, representing Engie and defending Engie’s interest in TSO working groups, acting as an market access towards ancillary services markets for both internal as external clients, as well as optimizing the overall profitability of ENGIE’s ancillary services contracts from forward auctions, over real time delivery, up to settlement discussions with the TSO. We have a local representation in Belgium and France.
Role :
As TSO Contract Manager your main responsibilities will be:
Commercial
- Act as the main commercial interface towards the Dutch TSO (Tennet) for BU S&EM, including also on behalf of other BU’s we represent in the Netherlands (BU R&F /Engie Services)
- Build a long term professional relationship with the relevant external and internal counterparties.
- Build a global market intelligence including an in-depth view on market competition on ancillary services
- Support to product development – clarify ancillary products requirements, support in valuation exercises and highlight upcoming regulatory evolutions creating market opportunities
Contractual
- Manage existing TSO related contracts (ancillary services, BRP contracts, BSP contracts, grid access agreements, Black Start contracts, MVar contracts …)
- Follow up of the regulatory evolutions and the potential impact on your contracts
- Represent ENGIE in this context in TSO organized working groups and coordinate the ENGIE input in consultations that resolves from this.
Operational
- Ensure the contracts under management are well followed up and optimized within the operational teams within S&EM, and make sure the process from optimization to invoicing is well under control
- Guarantee the follow up upon the overall profitability and financial reporting of ancillary services and provide the associated analysis
- Define appropriate risk polices with the Risk management department in order to acquire the appropriate mandate
This is a front office role, working in a dynamic environment and in close collaboration with internal stakeholders
Key skills, knowledge and abilities:
- 5-10 years of experience in either contract design & negotiation, energy assets optimization and/or energy markets. Experience in the decentralized flexibility sector is a plus.
- Master degree in one of the following disciplines: engineering, mathematics, physics, economics, finance, etc..
- Solid knowledge of the CWE power system and markets.
- Taste for regulatory matters – and ability to link them to business opportunities
- Strong negotiation skills, ability to take a position and defend it externally
- Experience in Project Management
- Proficiency with IT tools - Ability to interact with IT developers and ability to code (python,VBA) is an asset
- Strong analytical skills.
- Result-oriented hands-on approach and ability to manage multiple workflows.
- Reliable, rigorous and detail-oriented.
- Stress resilient.
- Team player, communicate easily and ability to interact/cooperate with a variety of different profiles (traders, analysts, quants, sales, support functions, etc.))
Languages : Dutch Native. Fluent in English and French is a plus.
Location : Preferably Brussels, with occasional travels towards the Netherlands.
