The Global Business Unit Supply & Energy Management leverages ENGIE’s assets to deliver secure and sustainable energy to its B2B and B2C customers. It uses its expertise in energy management to provide decarbonized electricity 24/7.

Joining Supply & Energy Management means becoming part of a team of over 10,000 passionate experts spread across 20 countries, all united by a shared mission: shaping a greener and more efficient energy future. Together, we push the boundaries of innovation to deliver decarbonized energy 24/7. Join us and be part of those shaping the energy of tomorrow!

Context:

  • Market Analysis is an Expertise Center within S&EM and more in particular within the Operational Area Energy Management, with the mission to support ENGIE in succeeding the energy transition, thanks to advanced knowledge
  • Market Analysis delivers a broad spectrum of services related to energy markets including price forecasting, supply and demand analysis, weather and climate analysis, asset valuation, strategic studies, environmental economics, and importantly: Regulation & Market Design
  • Market Analysis expertise covers power and all gases from the short-term up to the long-term horizon for all core markets of ENGIE. It aims to develop state of the art methodologies to anticipate the challenges of the energy transition
  • The Regulation & Market Design team, within the Expertise Center Market Analysis, manages the European regulation of both electricity and gas markets impacting S&EM activities and, in particular, the asset portfolio optimization and the trading activities (Operational Area Energy Management). The team is responsible for establishing the S&EM positions for these activities in collaboration with internal stakeholders, champion these internally and externally, and persuade external stakeholders in order to promote optimal market functioning.
  • The electricity system has been drastically changing over the last years: more and more intermittent renewable generation, new market players, evolving role of system operators… At the same time, the European electricity markets are integrating at a fast pace, driven by European legislative initiatives. Achieving a truly European, efficient electricity market is a real challenge and covers the correct implementation of Market Network Codes, existing and new electricity regulations and directives. The energy crisis of a few years ago also illustrated the importance of having a sound electricity market design, which will allow market players to deliver the renewable and low-carbon investments needed to achieve the decarbonization targets and consumers to benefit from these investments.

  • Communicate (written and oral) key topics externally, pro-actively or in response to consultations, sometimes under tight time constraints;
  • Represent and advocate the interests and positions of ENGIE with various stakeholders with regard to electricity markets matters (security of supply, large infrastructures in generation, transmission and storage, improvement of power market functioning and market design. The main stakeholders in this context are TSOs and NRAs ;
  • Ensure a constructive cooperation and collaboration with the relevant regulatory teams within ENGIE
