Your Mission
The energy landscape is evolving rapidly, driven by renewables, electrification, new flexible and decentralized technologies (batteries, electric boilers, etc.), geopolitics, and the urgent need for decarbonized, reliable, and affordable energy. Those that know how to embrace this increase in complexity will thrive. We are therefore looking to reinforce our teams with highly-motivated and talented structurers able to leverage complexity into new business opportunities.
You will be part of the S&EM’s energy structuring team and learn from top individuals across 2 missions of 18 months each: one based in Brussels and the other based in Madrid.
As a structurer you are accountable for the transformation of client needs into transactable solutions. During your program, you will learn to:
- Shape business opportunities to find the sweet spot between client needs, our risk appetite and our expected return.
- Identify and price some key risks; market, credit, regulation, operations,…
- Identify and assess all value pockets of business opportunities.
- Design and negotiate deals and contracts, in collaboration with legal and support teams.
- Work together with very diverse profiles (sales, traders, quants, risk managers, legal, etc.).
You will learn about the global energy markets, Power Purchase Agreements (PPA) for renewable assets, Flexibility Purchase Agreements (FPA) for batteries, hedging through derivatives (power and cross-commodity options, fixed-for-floating swaps,… ), decarbonized supply offers and more.
You will work on impactful business cases to scale up S&EM’s commercial offering and improve our risk management capabilities, such as in 24/7 carbon free energy, co-location of renewable assets and batteries.
What do we expect from you
To make a tangible contribution to the development of the business of the structuring team to which you are part of. We expect you not only to learn, but also to deliver. Your ability to deliver will be a key differentiator.
