Don’t look any further and enrich your career by joining the Power Dispatching team as a Real-time Power Dispatcher within Engie R&F.
This role is organized in the Real-time Dispatching and Operations (RTDO) branch within ENGIE’s Revenues & Strategy department.
Your mission will take place in the Real-time Dispatching Center (RDC) in Brussels, having ENGIE’s NWE (North Western Europe) power production in scope. The team manages the 24/7 commitment of the ENGIE power production for Belgium, France, Netherlands and Germany, in which you monitor and steer both ENGIE and 3rd party portfolios.
The RDC in Brussels consists of 2 dispatching desks, split between BE/FR and NL/DE. Each desk has a crew of 8, with a shared responsibility to assure 24/7 continuity by performing an 8-weekly series of morning, evening and nightshifts. Each desk is supported by a dedicated coordinator, as well as the team’s data quality manager and business analyst.
Mission
- Rotate in a shift crew to deliver 24/7 continuity
- Manage the balance between the total power production and ENGIE’s commitment to the different markets. To keep this balance, you will have to interact with the power plant responsible, the optimization teams, and the power Transmission System Operators (TSO)
- Serve the imbalance markets - where allowed - by reacting to imbalance prices in real-time and thus maximize the value of the portfolio.
- Monitor ancillary services contracts towards TSO’s, supporting the design of intraday activation strategies and provide real-time steering of flexible assets
- Serve to all other obligations exposed to the assets in the portfolio (e.g.: CRM, Remit, grid congestion, ...)

Profile
Hard skills
- Any interdisciplinary skills is a must: Engineering, Economical, Financial & Digital (Data, Coding);
- Any knowledge of physical power and gas markets is a plus.

- You are able to perform in a high pace environment with strict deadlines;

Education and professional background
Bachelor or master in relevant studies (Engineering, Economics or Digital);
Professional experience on energy markets and/or digitalization is a plus.
Languages
- You are fluent in English and either(*) Dutch or French.
(*) Lack of Dutch or French will require you to learn the basic needs of that language - German is a plus.
