The Engineer is part of the BAGEN_P4 Power & Heat Systems group within the Engineering Management and Process Métier. They contribute to the development, design, assessment and implementation of energy production, conversion and recovery systems for industrial, nuclear and energy transition projects. The Engineer also contributes to on-site activities during the project realisation phase.
The role can be adapted to the candidate’s background and strengths, with opportunities to develop further expertise across power and heat systems.
The Engineer supports projects from early development phases through detailed engineering, construction support and commissioning. The Engineer provides process and system engineering expertise on power and heat generation systems, industrial utilities and thermal energy systems, ensuring safe, efficient and cost-effective solutions.

Your key responsibilities
- Engineering Studies
- Perform feasibility, conceptual, basic and detailed engineering studies.
- Develop and review process designs and system architectures.
- Prepare and validate process deliverables such as:
- Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs)
- Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs)
- Functional descriptions
- Design calculations
- Equipment sizing calculations
- Technical specifications
- Perform hydraulic, thermal and performance calculations.
- Assess technical solutions and support technology selection.
- Technical Coordination:
- Interface with specialists from other disciplines (mechanical, electrical, I&C, civil, layout, safety, etc.).
- Contribute to multidisciplinary technical integration.
- Support design reviews and technical decision-making.
- Ensure consistency between process requirements and detailed design outputs.
- Project Delivery:
- Support proposal preparation and project execution.
- Participate in procurement activities, including the preparation of Requests for Proposal, technical bid evaluations and vendor engineering follow-up for equipment and systems.
- Contribute to contract management activities.
- Support construction, site activities, testing and commissioning when required.
- Provide technical support to clients, project teams and internal stakeholders.
- Coordinate with vendors and contractors and contribute to the resolution of technical issues during project execution.
- Knowledge Development:
- Maintain and develop expertise in relevant technologies.
- Contribute to methodologies, standards and lessons learned.
- Share knowledge with colleagues and provide mentorship and guidance to engineering teams during all the phases of a project.
- Participate in innovation and continuous improvement initiatives.

- Combined Cycle Gas Turbine Plants (CCGT)

- Steam and water systems

- Boilers and steam turbines

- Industrial decarbonisation projects and energy transition studies.

- More than 7 years of relevant experience.
- Able to perform engineering studies autonomously on assigned systems.
- Contributes actively to technical coordination activities.
- Depending on experience, able to lead complex engineering studies and support key technical decisions.
- Able to coach junior engineers and contribute to knowledge sharing within the team.
- Capable of acting as technical focal point towards clients, partners and project management when required.
- Experience contributing to business development and strategic technical positioning is considered an asset.
- Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Energy Engineering, Process Engineering or equivalent.
- Additional expertise in power generation, thermal systems or industrial energy systems is required.
