Your mission  

As a Lead Engineer – Civil Engineering specialized in Bridges and Tunnels within our Civil Infrastructure department you will contribute to projects in Belgium, with a strong focus on bridges, footbridges and tunnels. Typically, you are part of a multidisciplinary team that delivers the complete design for a large-scale infrastructure project.

Your key responsibilities  


  • You lead, motivate, coach and manage a small project team of monodisciplinary structural engineers and draftsmen for your projects with a strong focus on bridges, tunnels, retaining walls, ...
  • You are responsible for designing civil works from concept to execution study
  • You are responsible for ensuring that the budget, the agreed scope, the timing and the quality of the engineering works is executed as required.
  • You will ensure that the projects assigned to you are executed in accordance with our quality system and our H&S rules.
  • You report the progress for all your projects on a weekly basis to the Team Manager of Infrastructure Civil Structures.
  • You guide young engineers by actively participating in their training trajectory.
  • You enhance an integrated design process by looking transversally over the different disciplines involved.
  • You respond to the needs of the client, and you attach great importance to customer focus.
  • You prepare and submit offers and contracts, and you present them to the customer in consultation with the commercial team.
  • As lead engineer you actively promote and establish BIM collaboration procedures according to our company vision where applicable.

 

 

We would love to hear from people with

 

  • A Master of Sciences (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering (Construction)
  • At least 5 years of experience in an engineering office, with focus on infrastructures studies.
  • Proven experience in an infrastructure construction project as design engineer, with experience in all design and construction phases
  • Knowledge of FEM software is essential, knowing SCIA Engineer is a plus
  • The willingness to travel occasionally to establish working relations with our colleagues in France, Germany, etc.

  • Your technical know-how makes you a reliable partner;
  • You are fluent in Dutch and English; knowledge of French is a plus.
