The ENGIE European Affairs Department is looking for a full-time intern in its Brussels’ office for a period of 6 months starting in September 2025.

THE EUROPEAN AFFAIRS DEPARTMENT
The European Affairs Department, part of the Group Public Affairs Department, carries out the following tasks:
- drafting the Group's positions on European issues of priority interest, after consulting all the relevant internal entities;
- ensuring representation and advocacy on European issues towards the European Institutions (Commission, Council, and Parliament) to defend the Group's interests;
- coordinating the Group's participation in various professional associations at the European level;
- informing the internal entities about current and forthcoming European regulatory issues.
YOUR ROLE as European Affairs Intern:
Working in a dynamic and professional environment, you will have the opportunity to deepen your knowledge of the functioning of the EU decision-making and lobbying activities.
Your missions will consist of:
- drafting press reviews of the European Institutions and main stakeholders’ legislative and regulatory activities of relevance for ENGIE’s activities;
- monitoring of the Parliamentary Committees activities, identification of main actors and of the EU legislative calendar on the topics identified by the department;
- contributing to the daily work of the department according to emerging issues and needs;
- attending external conferences and taking minutes;
- performing background research and analysis on emerging issues;
- drafting advocacy material and reports.
YOUR PROFILE as European Affairs Intern:
- The internship must take place in the framework of a university degree, ideally a Master’s degree in European Law, International Politics, European Studies or equivalent.
- Languages : Fluency in English and French, knowledge of any other European language is an asset;
- Proven interest in European affairs and in the energy sector;
- Strong writing skills and ability to summarize;
- Proactive team player and able to work autonomously;
- A previous experience in public affairs and/or in the energy sector would be a plus.

The process:

- CV screening: a relevant study background and proven communication skills will be assessed. This first selection will be finished by 14th of July.
- First short online interview with our recruiter Els and someone from EU-affairs team. Here we will test your motivation, personality and fit with the content of the internship and our company. The interviews will take place in the week of the 14th of July
- Second physical/online meeting with our Director of European Affairs: Corinna Grajetzky. These interviews will take place in the week of 21st of July.
