We're seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Decentralized Flexibility Operations Manager to join our dynamic team in Brussels, Belgium. Your Mission
As Decentralized Flexibility Operations Manager, you'll play a crucial role in:
- Navigating Complexity: Master the diverse landscape of Decentralized Flexibility contracts, ensuring their precise representation within our cutting-edge operating systems. Your ability to translate intricate contractual details into robust system configurations will be paramount.
- Guardian of Data Integrity: Own the data flows from end to end, meticulously ensuring their accuracy and reliability for seamless front-to-back and physical operations. You'll be the ultimate arbiter of data quality, safeguarding critical information.
- Operational Excellence: Thrive in a dynamic, real-time environment, supporting our stakeholders with unwavering operational excellence under tight deadlines. Your quick thinking and problem-solving skills will be essential. This may require on-call duty shifts to guarantee operational excellence in real time.
- Pioneering Automation: Drive our automation strategy, identifying opportunities to enhance operational efficiency and spearheading IT developments to adapt to evolving market demands and regulation evolutions. You'll be instrumental in shaping the future of our operational processes.
Your core responsibilities will include:
- Portfolio Mastery:
- Design the portfolio organization into TSO entities to reduce the risks and fulfill regulatory constraints and declare the portfolio to the TSO and the DSO accordingly to the regulation
- Manage the relationships with the TSO/DSO regarding portfolio evolutions
- Meticulously manage a portfolio of decentralized flexibility contracts, ensuring their accurate initial setup in our tools and implementing robust transversal checks to guarantee data quality.
- Data Quality Champion:
- Manage the decentralized flexibility data model
- Make sure that the data required for real time operations and settlement are available
- Apply data management best practices, serving as the guardian of data quality across all operational flows.
- Ensuring Data Extensiveness: Guarantee the comprehensiveness of data and pipelines, providing seamless support for all front-to-back operations.
- Asset qualification for ancillary services:
- Manage the qualification process for aFRR with the asset owner and the TSO (performance report, tests)
- Monitor asset performance and impact on qualification
- Manage asset certification on CRM (Capacity Remuneration Mechanism):
- Certify the portfolio accordingly to local rules
- Monitor portfolio performance and challenge TSO performance computations
- Process Improvement & Automation:
- Actively contribute to continuous operational process improvements, championing automation initiatives and steering impactful IT projects.
- Describe process failures when they occur and propose process evolution to avoid the issue in the future
- Process Design and Operations
- In cooperation with Structuring and Trading teams, design the process and associated KPI and alarm that are required to operate the contract and support structuration process to make sure that the contracts can be operated.
- Specify IS requirement in cooperation with product owner and tests the IT development to make sure that there are operational
- Make sure that operations are running properly, monitor operational alarm and react accordingly with IT team support and asset owner. This may require on-call duty shifts to guarantee requested activation support.
- Stakeholder Collaboration and Local Operations Liaison:
- Build strong relationships with site owners, gathering vital operational and technical information to integrate external data flows into our internal databases.
- Manage the relationships with local installers/maintainers (contract management, performance monitoring, process design and review)
- Organize test on customer premises to make sure that the asset can deliver what is expected
- Effectively interact with local providers to ensure the continuous maintenance and optimization of existing technical flows.
- Regulatory Compliance: Manage and track registrations with administrative bodies, ensuring full compliance.
- Cross-Functional Communication: Collaborate closely with diverse internal stakeholders, including Finance, Origination, Trading, Dispatch, and others, to ensure their operational needs are seamlessly addressed.
What we are looking for
- Experience: Proven experience in a data-intensive operational role, ideally within the energy trading, renewables, or financial sectors.
- Team player: Team spirit and strong commitment to deliver in a demanding environment the operational excellence as a team
- Analytical Prowess: Exceptional analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to data accuracy.
- Technical Aptitude: Familiarity with trading systems, data management principles, and an interest in automation technologies.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Problem Solver: A proactive and resilient approach to problem-solving, thriving under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Coding skills: Existing proven experience in coding using Python language.
- Language Skills: Fluency in English and French is essential. Knowledge of German or Dutch is a significant plus.
- Education: A Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Engineering, Finance, Business Analytics, Computer Science).
