As Chief Information Officer (CIO) at Tractebel, part of the ENGIE Group, you will play a key role in shaping and delivering the company’s Digital and IT strategy in support of its engineering and energy transition ambitions. Reporting at executive level, you will drive business value through technology and organizational transformations, ensuring secure, efficient and scalable IT services across multiple geographies. You will hold an end-to-end accountability for Digital & IT across Tractebel, driving consistency, performance and measurable value delivery across all Business Areas, functions and regions. This role combines full business accountability (direct reporting to the CFO organization) with functional alignment to ENGIE Group Digital & IT, delivering both strategic business impact and adherence to Group standards.

Your key responsibilities
- Strategic alignment & value delivery: Act as a strategic partner to Business Areas and Support Lines, ensuring Digital & IT priorities support Tractebel’s performance, growth and operational needs, with measurable value outcomes.
- End-to-end accountability across Tractebel: Hold end-to-end accountability for Digital & IT performance, cost, risk, compliance and service outcomes across all Business Areas, functions and geographies, ensuring a consistent ‘One Tractebel’ approach.
- Service delivery & operational excellence: Ensure reliable, efficient and scalable IT services (Workplace, Applications, Infrastructure/Cloud, Data), with standardized ITSM practices, SLAs and continuous improvement.
- Cybersecurity & resilience: Own and continuously strengthen Tractebel’s cybersecurity posture, ensuring the protection of critical engineering assets, intellectual property, and sensitive data; enforce a strict “no compromise on cybersecurity” principle across all activities; ensure full alignment with ENGIE Group cybersecurity strategy, standards and controls, and lead cyber risk management, resilience and crisis preparedness at enterprise level.
- Budget ownership & financial management: Own the full IT budget lifecycle (planning, tracking, forecasting, optimization), consolidate spending, manage CapEx/OpEx trade-offs and cost allocation/showback principles in close partnership with Finance. Prepare and lead Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs), ensuring transparency on performance, risks and value delivery, and contribute to the Medium-Term Plan (MTP), aligned with Tractebel’s strategic roadmap and financial trajectory
- Target Operating Model (TOM) & governance: Adapt and deploy the Digital & IT Delivery Model and organization, ensuring coherence with Tractebel’s broader service lines guiding principles and enabling effective end-to-end accountability;
- Foundations for Cloud, Data & AI: Lead, architect and implement the enabling foundations (Cloud strategy & platforms, data governance and data foundations, AI stack) required to scale secure AI adoption and digital capabilities.
- Compliance, standards, vendors & talent: Ensure regulatory compliance (incl. Digital/IT, Data & AI), harmonize enterprise standards and secure interoperability across Tractebel relying on ENGIE global solutions; define and drive the IT vendor and sourcing strategy in close collaboration with Procurement and fully aligned with ENGIE Group sourcing policies; contribute to vendor selection and performance management; build and develop the required capabilities and talent across the Digital & IT function in Tractebel.
- Key stakeholders & interfaces
Business Areas (BAs): Co-define roadmaps, capture demand, prioritize investments and ensure adoption and value realization.
Finance: Budget cycles, forecasting, cost allocation/showback model, CapEx/OpEx governance, performance tracking, reporting to the Tractebel CFO and Group Digital & IT function.
Human Resources: Workforce planning, capability building and talent development for Digital & IT roles.
Legal, Risk & Compliance: Regulatory compliance and contractual obligations, including data and AI considerations.
Procurement & strategic vendors: Vendor strategy, negotiations, performance management and renewals.
ENGIE Group Digital & IT: Alignment on Group standards, platforms, cybersecurity, Cloud, Data and AI strategies; contribution to Group initiatives.

We would love to hear from people with
- Master’s degree in Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent through experience
- Proven experience in senior IT leadership roles (CIO, Head of IT, IT Director) in an international environment
- Strong track record in leading complex IT transformations (Cloud, Cybersecurity, Digitalization, Data, AI)
- Experience in engineering, infrastructure or project-based industries is a strong asset
- Solid financial acumen with experience managing large IT budgets and cost optimization initiatives
- Strong stakeholder management experience at executive and Group level
- Fluent in English; additional languages are an asset
- You are a strategic thinker with strong execution capabilities
- You are able to influence and engage senior stakeholders across business and Group functions
- You have a strong leadership presence and the ability to drive change in complex environments
- You are customer-oriented and focused on delivering business value
