What You Can Expect

As our Utility Person 1, at ENGIE’s Medical Area Total Energy Plant (MATEP), you will be responsible for performing general cleaning duties including but not limited to:

  • storage areas
  • office areas
  • stairways
  • locker rooms
  • lunchrooms
  • bathrooms
  • plant laboratory
  • instrument shops, soundproof booths, control rooms and other areas of the plant as directed

 

You will be reporting to the Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor.

 

 

What You’ll Bring

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum three (3) years of applicable experience in an industrial facility
  • You have knowledge of power generation, power generation equipment and technology
  • You must perform cleaning of plant offices, storage areas, locker rooms, stairways, satellite facilities, and other areas as required
  • You will clean and dust furniture and fixtures, wash walls and windows in plant and office areas
  • You will clean interior plant critical operating equipment and walks
  • You will paint building and associated equipment
  • You will assist uniform vendor in the collection and distribution of uniforms, wipers, and runners
  • You must maintain the plant’s exterior and walks, including grounds keeping, window cleaning, trash collection and removal, sweeping of walks and passageways, and snow removal from walkways and driveways
  • You must observe and comply with all standard safety codes and practices and perform work in accordance with recognized trade and company standards and, where applicable, local, state, and federal laws
  • You must participate in mandatory training, and other programs
  • Must participate in emergency response team
  • You will perform other maintenance related duties as required

 

 

Additional Details

  • This role requires attendance at a worksite on a daily basis
  • Working Shift: Tuesday – Saturday or Sunday – Thursday; Day Shift; 6:00am to 2:30pm
  • May be required to work overtime - relief, off-shift, and emergency coverage (nights, weekends) and/or other, as needed
  • Must possess a valid U.S. driver’s license
  • Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies
  • This position consists of 20% of outdoor work, while performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Maximo CMMS programs.
  • Must be able to work internally in the physical plant and externally on the facility’s grounds or at satellite facilities
  • Ability to meet highest attendance requirements
  • Frequently required to stand; walk; sit; and stoop, kneel, or crouch
  • Occasionally required to climb or balance
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments on a timely basis with a high degree of accuracy

 

 

Compensation

Hourly:  $28.14 USD hourly

 

Your position is part of a bargaining unit represented by International Union of Operating Engineers-Local 877. Many of the terms and conditions of your employment, including but not limited to work scheduling, wages, vacation, sick leave, and other benefits, will be governed by a collective bargaining agreement (the “CBA”) between the Company and the union. 

 

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.
