Context:

In this section, please introduce the team, its position within the organization (GEMS), the purpose and role played by the team within GEMS.

Within GEMS, the CLIENTS Business Platform aims to meet the energy needs of European ‘Major Accounts’ customers, by providing them with energy and also supporting them in their optimization actions and transition towards a decarbonized production. As a power structurer in BP CLIENTS, you play a key role in the profitability of the business by structuring offer where risk are mastered at a competitive price.

You  belong to a team that has two main missions.  First  mission consists in managing the offering process and is the responsibility by structuration team. Second one is  managing volume risk and is ensured by Hedging and position management team. You work in close contact with HPM team to reach your objectives.

Role:

In this section, please indicate in detail (in Bullet point form) the missions of the position.

In your role of power structurer :

  • You analyze the request for quote of customer, from a volume risk point of view.
  • You price the offer and define the hedging strategy with hedging position management
  • You capture the contract once it is signed
  • You develop and maintain tools necessary to produce offer and pricing
  • You contribute transversally to the digitalization of the process
  • You are the referent in the team for market design and supplier obligations.
  • You will have regular interaction with FinOps and Back-Office teams to ensure correct billing follow-up of the signed contracts.
  • You might be requested to join the Sales team to interact directly with the Customer and help to explain the proposed approach.

Hard skills:

  • Must have:
    • significant quantitative background,
    • knowledge in risk management,
    • strong knowledge on xls
    • ability to manage large set of data

 

  • Good to have:
    • Ability to code (Python, VBA)
    • Knowlegde of SAP in a plus

Soft skills:

  • Must have: rigorous, hands-on, resilient, able to work with tight deadline.
  • Good to have: customer-oriented.

Education and professional background:

  • Please indicate the academic background expected for the position:
  • You have at least a first experience in power or energy sector with focus on Belgian or dutch market (pricing, scheduling, trading).

Languages:

  • Fluent in Dutch and English, French is a plus.

Travels:

  • Location : Brussels office (with punctual travel to Paris office)
