Context

The CTM team (Contract and Transaction Management) is overseeing the maintenance and evolution of the handful of Trading systems (Meteor, Sungard Zynet, Orchestrade, …) that allow GEMS to partake in all kinds of Market activities.

Within CTM, Flexibility and Renewable Services teams are in charge of the IS applications dedicated to the Green power business.

You will report to the head of Supply & Renewables Energy Management IS team

Role

As Head of Renewables Energy Management IS team, you will play a pivotal role in driving the development and optimization of our IT infrastructure and applications within the renewable energy sector.

In collaboration with senior management, you will define the target organization of a 30+ member team whose expertise encompasses a wide range of domains including :

• contract representation,

• portfolio modelling,

• forecasting,

• P&L reporting

• …

This position requires a hands-on leader with a strong background in software development and a proven track-record in delivering robust and efficient data-heavy applications in the cloud (AWS).

Key missions

• Audit Current Setup: You will be responsible for conducting a comprehensive audit of our current IT setup. This includes assessing existing systems, processes, and technologies to identify areas for improvement and optimization.

• Define Team Organization: You will structure and lead a team of 30+ professionals, to maximize efficiency, collaboration, and innovation while aligning with the strategic goals of the organization.

• Develop a Robust Suite of Applications: You will spearhead the design, development, and implementation of scalable IT solutions around the collection and analysis of time series data produced by wind farms and solar panels.

• Reduce Time to Market: With a focus on agility and efficiency, you will lead the way in reducing the time to market. This involves implementing best practices, agile methodologies, and cutting-edge technologies to accelerate the development and deployment of new applications and features

Challenges:

You will be tasked with managing and leveraging a wealth of data generated from various sources such as renewable energy assets (e.g. wind turbines), grid operators, weather patterns, and market trends.

This data is critical for optimizing operations, predicting energy generation, and making strategic business decisions.

Hard skills
 

• Mastering of AGILE framework ;
• Good capacity and field experience in applicative architecture ;
• Understanding of development languages like Python, C# ;
• Good understanding of one modern web framework (React, Angular) ;
• Master at least one relational database ( PostgreSQL, MySQL) ;
• Understand the cloud offer (AWS) ;
• Strong understanding of information management tool and trading systems ;
