Every day, we work together to develop efficient energy solutions to build a carbon neutral future.  EMS (European Maintenance Support) is part of the ENGIE Group that executes specialized maintenance activities in different power plants in Europe (mainly Belgium, the Netherlands and France). Inside the Boiler & Balance of Plant Engineering team, we are currently looking for an Engineer Pumps & Valves willing to become an expert in this domain.

YOUR CHALLENGE as Engineer Pumps & Valves (M/F/X):

 

  • You get the chance to build up knowhow, develop and maintain expertise in the field of Pump & Valves maintenance and condition monitoring (primary focus is on pumps).
  • In order to become an expert you will:
    • Play a key role in the scoping, preparation, execution and consolidation of outage maintenance projects.
    • Carry out fact finding, QA/QC and condition assessments in the field or in the workshop of our different suppliers.
    • Conduct troubleshooting and Root-Cause Analyses and define corrective and preventive actions in case of incidents or non-conformities observed during outages
    • Develop maintenance strategies for the relevant equipment and update them according findings.
    • Ensure the day-to-day technical support of the different Balance of Plant maintenance teams within EMS.
    • Initiate and realize improvement and replacement projects based on technical-economical analysis
  • As an expert you will collaborate with multiple stakeholders as you will be supporting both internal clients (ENGIE) and external clients (industrial companies).
  • You further develop and consolidate your knowhow by sharing knowledge, coaching others and determining adequate training modules for the department. You participate to internal and external network events.

 

YOUR PROFILE as Engineer Pumps & Valves (M/F/X):

 

  • You hold a Master degree in Mechanical Engineering and a proven and solid industrial experience (min. 5 years) in pump technology or pump maintenance ánd profound knowledge of pump degradation mechanisms.
  • Profound knowledge of the power plant water/steam cycle and/or (predictive) condition monitoring techniques (vibrations) are considered a plus.
  • You have very strong analytical and reporting skills, you are a problem solver and eager to further expand your knowledge in order to become a reference in the domain of pump & valves technology.
  • You are a team player and like interaction with various stakeholders; EMS colleagues, power plant staff, service provider personnel, insurers, etc., and thus are able to collaborate with different types of people : both technicians and engineers.
  • You are a good communicator and have a professional knowledge of English, additionally you are able to either speak Dutch or French on professional level.
  • You are mobile and flexible: you are willing to travel to all ENGIE sites: from Herdersbrug, to Zandvliet, to Saint-Ghislain (daily - depending on the location of sites). Additionally, you are willing to spend up to max 30% of working time abroad.
  • You have a strong safety and environmental awareness. You always take responsibility for the health and safety of yourself and your colleagues!

Daily workplace: Varies: at home, on the office in Linkebeek or at ENGIE's various power plants (thermal, hydro). Depending on the projects you will move to these various locations. View all ENGIE production units in Belgium at this link.
