What You Can Expect

As our Electrical and Instrument & Controls Supervisor, at ENGIE’s Medical Area Total Energy Plant (MATEP) located in Boston, MA you will lead the facility electrical maintenance activities through planning, assignment, and coordination of the work of employees and contractors. This position reports to the Maintenance Manager.

 

You will:

  • Plan, schedule, and provide overall supervision for maintenance work related to mechanical and electrical equipment and piping systems including, but not limited to, boilers, steam turbines, gas turbine generators, pumps, chillers, motors, compressors, valves, steam distribution, chilled water distribution, electrical controls and high voltage circuit breakers
  • Coordinate maintenance, engineering, operations, and customers to review, plan, and implement maintenance activities necessary to maintain and better the plant’s reliability.  Engage in the inspection, testing, repair, maintenance, and modification of equipment for the MATEP facility
  • Generate, update, or modify preventative and predictive maintenance plans in the CMMS data to ensure timely completion and documentation
  • Update the CMMS system daily to ensure proper work order classification and documentation
  • Initiate immediate repairs resulting from forced outages; communicate status to plant chain of command
  • Oversee and coordinate activities of the Mechanical Maintenance department in compliance with applicable labor agreements and personnel policies and procedures
  • Assist in planning, developing, and scheduling major maintenance activities including overhauls, replacements and installations
  • Coordinate maintenance activities with other station sections and support personnel
  • Review and evaluate the need for tools, parts and materials for mechanical maintenance work
  • Respond to emergency or unanticipated electrical or mechanical maintenance requirements outside work hours
  • Responsible for arranging on-the-job training of maintenance personnel in accordance with established programs
  • Approve maintenance activities within Mechanical Maintenance; recommend action on maintenance personnel matters
  • Provide feedback or input to work order backlog reviews on general trends or potential focus areas to improve safety, operations/reliability and/or efficiency
  • Track assets added and removed through construction and repair projects for purposes of maintaining accurate system valuation
  • Other duties as assigned

 

What You’ll Bring

 

  • A minimum high school diploma plus 5 years of relevant experience
  • 1 year of supervisory experience  
  • Must have demonstrated technical ability in the operation and maintenance of industrial systems
  • Must have in-depth knowledge of power generation, power generation equipment and technology

 

 

Additional Details

  • This role requires attendance at a worksite on a daily basis
  • Must be available to travel domestically up to 5% of the time
  • Must possess a valid U.S. driver’s license/may drive company vehicle
  • Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies
  • This position consists of 20% of outdoor work, while performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions
  • Ability to meet highest attendance requirements
  • Frequently required to stand; walk; sit; and stoop, kneel, or crouch
  • Occasionally required to climb or balance
  • Ability to use personal computer, calculator
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments on a timely basis with a high degree of accuracy
  • Thorough knowledge of all plant systems and understanding of process diagrams, simple electrical diagrams and operating instructions
  • Extensive knowledge in the installation of mechanical and electrical equipment in a generating, steam production and chilled water station
  • Knowledge of maintenance requirements for gas turbines, steam turbines, boilers and chiller equipment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Maximo Computerized Maintenance Management System programs
  • Ability to use analytical judgment to plan and perform diversified work, making decisions within prescribed limitations
  • Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers and take direction from others
  • Ability to work overtime, as well as, any schedule including nights and weekends

 

Compensation

Salary Range: $125,000.00 – $152,000.00 USD annually

 

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.

 

ENGIE complies with all federal, state, and local minimum wage laws. Actual salary offered may vary depending on geography, experience, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors. 

 

In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus / incentive plan.
