BIM Project Lead - Madrid, Spain

We are now seeking a BIM Project Lead to join our Madrid, Spain office.

Role Responsibilities

Planning and Project Management:

• Communicate project resourcing requirements to the Local BIM Manager.
• Liaise with design teams including supply chain to ensure that technical information and outputs are produced and delivered in line with information requirements, and industry standards.
• Monitor project progress and provide regular updates to stakeholders such as client, project managers, and design managers.

Setting up BIM project environments:

• Lead the mobilisation process by setting up CDEs, i.e. Autodesk Construction Cloud, folder structures, coordination spaces, model and drawing templates, 2d and 3d content, etc.
• Interpret and implement client requirements on project assignments.
• Coordinate with internal and external project teams to integrate BIM processes into project planning and execution.

Production:

• Lead the production and maintenance of BIM models, drawings, schedules, and specifications using Autodesk Construction Cloud, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project requirements. 
• Lead the production and maintenance of interrogation and coordination model files including clash management activities and associated reports, fly-throughs, and other outputs using Autodesk Navisworks Manage and Autodesk Construction Cloud.
• Lead the production and submission of agreed deliverables as per specialist design engineers’ specifications, company and industry standards, client requirements, and in accordance with project programme and milestone dates

Support:

• Assist the BIM Manager in spotting skill gaps and training opportunities as well as by developing adequate training material, and by delivering training sessions.
• Provide technical support and training to team members on BIM software and best practices.

Liaise: 

• Be the client-facing Single Point of Contact (SPOC)
• Liaise with clients regarding all CAD and BIM aspects of a design project.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to resolve design and construction issues.
• Work closely with the Local, Regional and Global BIM leaders to input into training and development plans for all 2D and 3D modelling staff.

Meet:

• Conduct regular BIM coordination meetings and clash detection sessions with multi-discipline teams including setting agendas, tracking progress, achievements, programme, risks, distributing actions, etc.
• Attend project meetings and presentations either in person or video-calls to present live 3D modelling progress, clash management reports, walk-throughs etc. to project teams including clients.

Quality Assurance and Compliance:

• Ensure compliance with client information requirements, industry standards, and company policies by auditing 2D CAD drawings and 3D models, including outputs generated in any business areas.
• Ensure standards are upheld including file naming convention, attributes and values, Level of Information Need, Segregation and Federation, vendor’s and internal content compliance, materials, modelling and drafting standards, etc. 

 Drive excellence: 

• Have an innovative and holistic approach to sustainability in the context of construction design and modelling. 
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and innovation within the BIM framework. ·
• Exercise straight forward technical and professional judgement using company policy, standards and procedures to guide actions and decisions.

Role Requirements

Essentials:

• Grado en Ingeniería o Arquitectura (o antiguas titulaciones de Ingeniería Técnica / Ingeniería Superior), y/o Máster en BIM or in a relevant engineering discipline, or equivalent demostrable experience in a relevant engineering discipline.
• Must be fluent in English and Spanish
• Minimum of five years’ experience using Autodesk Revit, Autodesk Navisworks, and Autodesk BIM360 or Construction Cloud in project environments.
• Proven track record of 3d modelling and coordination on construction projects within CAD/BIM environments.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Leadership skills (previous team leadership experience essential).
• Excellent Presentation skills. 
• Ability to cope with periods of heavy client workload, and a strong drive to deliver and lead others to deliver.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Self-motivated.
• Proven track record in the creation of project BIM Execution Plans.
• Knowledge of MS 365 i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook etc. · Ability to prioritise own workload.
• Ability to work to deadlines. 
• Excellent knowledge of authoring software such as Autodesk Revit and Autodesk AutoCAD as well as coordination and interrogation software such as Autodesk Navisworks Manage, and CDEs such as Autodesk BIM 360 and ACC, with a focus on MEP and multidisciplinary process-focused construction project environments. Including the setting up of drawing templates, building of parametric parts libraries and use of intelligent duct and pipe routing systems and tools.
• Experience in dealing with multi-discipline teams and client-facing responsibilities. 
• Sound understanding of civil, structural, and architectural (CS&A) models and drawings including construction, trade packages, multi-discipline coordination. 
• Ability to fully coordinate architectural, structural and building services within a 3d modelling environment with outline instructions from the project engineers. 
• A sound understanding of mechanical, electrical and public health systems engineering and general construction work. 
• Knowledge and working experience in the coordination and routing of mechanical, electrical and public health services, including air conditioning, heating and ventilation, pipework services, power containment, ICT containment, lighting services, drainage, fire services etc.

Desirable:

• Sound knowledge of key Spanish regional, European or UK H&S issues and legislation.
• Previous experience of working in a global business.
• Hold relevant qualifications or certificates in UNE - EN ISO19650, Autodesk Revit, Autodesk Navisworks, Autodesk AutoCAD. 
• Extensive experience working under UNE- EN ISO19650 or equivalent.
• Experience of working within a contractors drawing office (site based) producing coordinated construction/ installation workshop drawings using 3D modelling software.
• Experience in a global consultancy ideally with construction phase experience, Stage 0 - Stage 4, 5, and beyond.
• Proven track record in the setting up and management of BIM Model management platforms / CDEs i.e. Autodesk BIM 360, Autodesk Construction Cloud, etc.
• Proven track record in the creation of Project BIM Execution Plans (BEP).
• Proven track record in the development and management of company CAD/BIM standards and alignment to industry AEC standards.
