As an Assistant Engineer in our Mechanical team, you'll play a crucial role at the Dynamic First Hydro Power Station in ensuring the safe operation, integrity, and performance of both Dinorwig and Ffestiniog assets. What you will do

  • Deliver plant refurbishment, maintenance, and replacement projects within assigned budgets
  • Plan and manage resources, including contractors, to meet business objectives
  • Assist in the assessment, selection, and management of contracts
  • Provide expert advice within your plant area specialism to develop innovative - solutions
  • Implement initiatives to improve quality, environmental, health, and safety management
  • Support the Engineering Discipline Head in asset management and risk assessment
  • Investigate and solve plant-level problems to enhance performance
  • Contribute to a positive team environment and collaborate across departments

 

What you will bring to the role

  • Engineering or equivalent qualifications/experience
  • IOSH Managing Safely certification
  • Experience in engineering environments, particularly in the energy sector
  • Knowledge of environmental, health, and safety legislation relevant to mechanical engineering
  • Ability to identify and diagnose technical problems with support from line manager
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Innovative thinker with a passion for sustainable energy solutions

 

Job Based In

Dinorwig, Llanberis

 

This position requires on-site presence to effectively manage and oversee mechanical engineering projects and plant operations.
