Your work will vary from day to day, balancing hands-on development with production support in a fast-paced trading business. You will build and maintain data pipelines, integrations, warehouses, reports, and custom applications while investigating failed jobs, access questions, system issues, and data discrepancies. You will also contribute to business-driven projects that introduce new customers, vendors, products, data sources, and reporting needs, while helping the team prepare to support the future transactional platform.

  • Support the ETRM platform and related workflows, including trade, market, pricing, reference, risk, P&L, position, and exposure data.
  • Create and maintain reports, dashboards, technical specifications, data mappings, data dictionaries, and operational documentation.
  • Collaborate with business analysts, data engineers, technical team members, and business stakeholders to translate evolving needs into sustainable solutions.
  • Provide responsive production support while managing multiple development, enhancement, and issue-resolution priorities.

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Management Information Systems, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience
  • A minimum of 7 years relevant work experience is required
  • Expert-level experience with Microsoft SQL Server, including database design, query optimization, performance tuning, stored procedures, and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
  • Experience developing and maintaining enterprise reporting solutions using SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) or a comparable platform
  • Hands-on experience extracting and integrating data from Oracle databases; Oracle application development is not required
  • Proficiency in Python for data engineering, ETL, API integration, automation, and data transformation, including libraries such as Pandas and NumPy
  • Experience designing, building, and supporting data pipelines that integrate multiple internal and external systems
  • Knowledge of data warehousing, dimensional modeling, data governance, metadata management, and data-quality practices
  • Experience in an energy, commodity trading, financial trading, or ETRM environment, with an understanding of trades, commodities, scheduling, settlements, risk, or market data
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders and understand detailed technical requirements
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and root-cause problem-solving skills in an agile, changing environment
