Position Purpose
As a Financial Advisor - AIFA, you will be part of the Acquisitions, Investments and Financial Advisory team, supporting major transactions and strategic initiatives for ENGIE in Mexico and Latin America. Your mission will be to support the valuation and risk analysis of new projects, develop financial models, and contribute to the structuring and execution of M&A and project financing transactions.
Your Impact
You will contribute directly to our mission by performing key responsibilities such as:
Assist in the origination, structuring, negotiation, and execution of financing documents for medium to large transactions, aligned with ENGIE Group project finance practices.
Develop and maintain financial models to support investment decisions, ensuring the accuracy of key inputs and proposing relevant sensitivity analyses.
Manage internal approval processes for new economic commitments and associated financing arrangements.
Contribute to financial due diligence for M&A opportunities, including coordination with external financial advisors.
Ensure compliance with investment guidelines, valuation methodologies, health and safety requirements, and ethical standards.
Build and maintain relationships with multilateral agencies, export credit agencies, development financial institutions, and international commercial banks, while advising internal stakeholders on risk allocation, bankability, and project structuring.
Requirements
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Finance, Economics, or a related field. Professional qualifications such as CFA, CIMA, ACA, ACCA, or an MBA are considered a plus.
Minimum 2 to 3 years of relevant experience in audit, project finance, M&A, corporate development, investment banking, private equity, or within the power or infrastructure sector. Minimum 5 years of total professional experience.
Technical Skills
Strong understanding of financial, accounting, and tax concepts, including CAPM, IFRS, and financial statement analysis.
Advanced ability to develop and use detailed Excel-based financial models; VBA programming knowledge is highly valuable.
Knowledge of Independent Power Producer contractual and commercial structures, as well as experience in energy services or the financing of gas-fired, wind, and solar power generation projects, is a plus.
Ability to coordinate with banks, consultants, lawyers, management, business development, legal, technical, insurance, tax, and accounting teams to bring transactions to conclusion in a complex environment.
Languages
Fluent spoken and written English is mandatory. French or Portuguese is considered a plus.
