This notice (“Notice”) will provide information on our data processing activities concerning your personal information (“PIs”) collected/ required to connect and use ENGIE Candidate Portal (i) to create an account inter alia used to store your application information and/or (ii) to apply for a specific job opening in an Entity that belongs to ENGIE Canada Inc. and its affiliates and its subsidiaries (“ECI”, “we” or “us”). The relevant entity is indicated within the specific job offer. This Notice considers the rights and obligations in accordance with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and the Canadian provincial privacy laws applicable. 

Please note that there is an accept and decline button attached to this Privacy Notice. Due to technical issues, it is not possible to remove it.

If you choose to ‘decline’, you will be asked to confirm your choice. Please note that if you decline, no profile will be created for you and you will not be able to apply for a job with us.   

ECI has implemented this data processing for the following purposes: 

  • Application management (job interview, transmission and retention of resumes); and 
  • Automation of the hiring process. 

    In this data processing, the below categories of personal information may be collected about you: 
  • Identity and contact information (e.g., name, surname, phone number, address); 
  • Training/education information (degree, credential and dates); 
  • Protected information (e.g., gender, race/ethnicity, military or veteran status, disability); 
  • Professional experience or employment related information (position and job occupied, characteristics of the position sought by the candidate); and 
  • Candidature/application process related information including the application submission (e.g., sourcing, social networks, spontaneous application), the results of tests carried out as part of the recruitment process (e.g., technical skill evaluation, language skills test); and the general assessment of the suitability of the application for the position to be filled. 

Your personal information is stored for 4 years after the last connection activity to your profile. 

Your personal information will be processed by the relevant administrative and recruiting services of ECI.  

Your personal information can also be accessed by some ENGIE IT employees and its subcontractors, as part of their mission to maintain the application. Access to your data will be based on the “need to know” principle.  

Your personal information may be transferred outside Canada and in particular to some ENGIE IT subcontractors who participate in the application maintenance maintain the application from India. Such transfers will be subject to reasonable controls to protect the relevant information. 

While creating your account in the ENGIE Candidate Portal, you will have the possibility to choose the visibility level of your personal information amongst the 3 following options:  

  • Option 1: Only recruiters managing jobs I apply to (ENGIE recruiters can only see your profile when they are involved in the job(s) you applied to and will not be able to approach you for other job opportunities) 
  • Option 2: Only recruiters managing jobs of an ENGIE Entity in your country / region of residence (ENGIE recruiters managing jobs that are located in the same country as of your current country of residence can potentially see your profile and approach you for other job opportunities). 
  • Option 3: All recruiters managing jobs of all ENGIE entities worldwide (all recruiters within ENGIE can potentially see your profile and approach you for other job opportunities). 

You will have the possibility to change that option by yourself, anytime, by accessing your Candidate Profile in the ENGIE Candidate Portal. 

In accordance with the applicable regulations, you may exercise your rights to access and correct your personal information.
