Meet our colleagues Service & Marketing

Xavier : “Learn something new every day”

Thanks to his interest in people management, Xavier progressed through to being a Service Delivery Manager and Team Leader for the Marketing & Sales Belux departments. He strengthened his skills in leadership and assertiveness with further training at the ENGIE University. ‘As Team Leader, you work very closely with your employees. It’s my role to coach them and help make them stronger. It comes down to facilitating them so that they can do their job as optimally as possible. I include employees in the organisation process and we build a working atmosphere of trust and autonomy. We also take time to celebrate our successes. These elements ensure the team remains fully motivated.’

Xavier is grateful for the career opportunities that ENGIE has to offer. ‘It’s an extremely exciting sector. We’re undergoing a real revolution and it’s really interesting to be fully involved in this. As an organisation, we always need to respond to our customers’ wishes faster and more intelligently. We work on very innovative solutions such at the boxx, IoT, smart grids, etc.’

For Xavier, working at ENGIE is a team effort. ‘You’re never alone. All the employees in the department try to achieve the predetermined results together. I feel completely at home at ENGIE and learn something new every day. There are still plenty of challenges and opportunities here for my professional future.’

Daan: “Everyone’s headed in the same direction, today more than ever”

Account Manager at ENGIE Axima for 3 years, Daan Van Gansen assists customers in the chemical and petrochemical sector with the UPtimisation of their cooling installations.

Like at Alpro where we’ve
developed an ammonia/water-based absorption chiller… the world’s first! This device converts residual heat in the form of hot water into cooling. This means that there is hardly any need for electricity. “There are other suppliers who make this type of equipment, but the big difference is that we work proactively at ENGIE Axima. We help to map out the way ourselves and steer the market through innovation.”

What makes the partnership run smoothly?

“Everyone’s headed in the same direction, today more than ever. Everyone in the Group is convinced of the importance of energy efficiency. This attitude ensures that we take big steps forward.”

Muriel: “ I spot opportunities for the Group.”

“You could definitely say I’m up to the job. Since last year, I’ve been combining my job at ENGIE Electrabel with the multidisciplinary position of Key Account Manager for the health sector.
My mission? To present the products and services of the various entities within the Group to hospitals, nursing homes, etc. and to spot opportunities.”

Why is this my focus?
“Analyses showed that ENGIE was underrepresented in healthcare. But we were performing exceptionally well in the Netherlands thanks to a specific sector approach. So, we put together a comparable programme.”

Collaboration with other ENGIE entities?
“Absolutely! I work together with the sector managers from ENGIE Axima, ENGIE Cofely and ENGIE Fabricom. In the past few months, I’ve gotten to know more people and products than in the
17 years I’ve been working for ENGIE Electrabel. And that benefits my current customers.”
When you’re with a customer, you need to, above all, be a good listener. If I catch wind of a hospital with building plans, I pass on the information to the right people. ENGIE Axima, for example, has excellent products, but I leave the explanation of the technical details to the experts there.”
