Xavier : “Learn something new every day”

Thanks to his interest in people management, Xavier progressed through to being a Service Delivery Manager and Team Leader for the Marketing & Sales Belux departments. He strengthened his skills in leadership and assertiveness with further training at the ENGIE University. ‘As Team Leader, you work very closely with your employees. It’s my role to coach them and help make them stronger. It comes down to facilitating them so that they can do their job as optimally as possible. I include employees in the organisation process and we build a working atmosphere of trust and autonomy. We also take time to celebrate our successes. These elements ensure the team remains fully motivated.’
 

Xavier is grateful for the career opportunities that ENGIE has to offer. ‘It’s an extremely exciting sector. We’re undergoing a real revolution and it’s really interesting to be fully involved in this. As an organisation, we always need to respond to our customers’ wishes faster and more intelligently. We work on very innovative solutions such at the boxx, IoT, smart grids, etc.’

For Xavier, working at ENGIE is a team effort. ‘You’re never alone. All the employees in the department try to achieve the predetermined results together. I feel completely at home at ENGIE and learn something new every day. There are still plenty of challenges and opportunities here for my professional future.’
