This information notice explains what personal data the affiliated companies of the Engie Group in Belgium jointly collect and process from you when using the website https://jobs.engie.com/belgium and for what purpose we use that data.

What information do we collect?

Three different types of data are processed through https://jobs.engie.com/belgium:

  • In order to apply for a position, Engie requests that you provide certain personal data such as a name, email address and telephone number. Your file is created on this basis and is completed using data from your application, such as your work experience, training and education, competences, qualifications and job preferences. Documents such as CVs may also be attached. Job-related questionnaires or video interviews may be incorporated into the selection process.
  • When you apply using the clickbot, the following information is collected: url, language, reference number of the vacancy, registration status, mail address and the dialog information you entered in the clickbot.
  • When using the website, the following things will be tracked using Google Analytics. For more information, please read our cookie policy.
  • When signing up for an event, Engie will process personal data such as your first name, name, email address, phone number, type of function you are interested in, how you found Engie (which channel), and your curriculum vitae.

How do we use personal information?

Data used for analysing the behaviour of our website visitors, in order to improve the user-friendliness of our website. These data will only be used for statistical analyses and will not be connected to an individual user profile.

  • Personal data collected during your application in order to:
    • Manage internal mobility and external recruitment;
    • Publish job adverts internally and externally;
    • Manage internal and external job applications; and
    • Provide quantitative recruitment management elements for ENGIE.

  • Data collected when signing up for an event, used for the following purposes:
    • To check if there is a possible (job)match between the subscriber and Engie;
    • To do a prescreening;
    • To complete missing data; and
    • To send all the practical information regarding the event to the participants.

On which basis do we process your personal data?

Engie collects the personal data you provide and uses these data to process your application, taking into account the legal basis for the processing of personal data.

Information about the website navigation of visitors is processed on the basis of legitimate interest. It is our priority to make the website as user-friendly as possible for the website visitors.

Personal information submitted to apply for a position, via the website or via the clickbot , will only be processed with your consent.

By submitting your application, you declare that your data is true, accurate, complete and not misleading. In addition, you consent to Engie taking all reasonable steps to verify the data provided by you at any time during the application and selection process where this is permitted within the local legal context.

Personal data collected when signing up for an event will also only be processed with your consent.

How long do we keep your personal data?

Personal data that has been shared through your application is stored for a period of 24 months in our Applicant Tracking System. Engie will contact you before the 24-month deadline has passed and request that you update your data. Should you not wish to update your data at that time, your profile will be automatically deleted. You can view, edit and delete your file at any time by contacting Engie at staffing@engie.com.

Dialogue information from the clickbot will be stored until 1 month after the clickbot conversation. Afterwards, the data will be deleted by Engie.

User data that has been tracked using Google Analytics will be deleted after 24 months.

Personal data collected in the context of an event will be stored until 6 months after the event. Afterwards, the data will be anonymized by Engie.

When do we share personal data?

Your personal data will be shared in two scenario’s:

  • Data will be shared between the joint controllers, namely the affiliated companies of the Engie Group in Belgium: and
  • Data will be shared with our data processors. In case these processors are located outside the EEA, adequate protection measures are implemented to protect your data.

Your rights in relation to personal data

As a Data Subject, you can exercise several rights regarding your processed personal information, as laid down in the relevant data protection legislation:

  • The right of access to your personal data;
  • The right to rectification of your personal data;
  • The right to erasure of your personal data (‘right to be forgotten’);
  • The right to data portability;
  • The right to restriction of processing;
  • The right to object.

Where do we store and process personal data?

Only ENGIE HR-employees have access to your job application in our Applicant Tracking System.  This information shall be used for the following purposes:

  • as part of your application for a specific position;
  • to ensure inclusion on a candidate list should you have selected this option;
  • to inform you about other vacancies should you have set up a job;
  • should you have been selected for a position, your data will be used for your onboarding process and HR administration;
  • your contact information may also be used to improve your experience applying to Engie and to improve Engie's recruitment process.

Personal data collected in the context of events will be stored on the Shared Drive of Engie Belgium. If other platforms will be used, you will be informed about it.

User data that has been tracked using Google Analytics is hosted on Google Data centers.
